Padres de Salones de Clases | Room Parents
Los Padres del Salones de Clases son intermediarios entre el/la maestro/a, el Directorio de la PTA y las familias en cada clase; preferentemente hay un padre que habla inglés y otro padre que habla español.
Si le gustaría ser voluntario como Padre de Salón de clase o si tiene alguna pregunta sobre el programa, favor de contactar al maestro/a.
Room Parents serve as the liaisons between the teacher, the PTA Board and the families in each class; ideally, each class has an English-speaking Room Parent and a Spanish-speaking Room Parent.
If you would like to volunteer to be Room Parent or have any questions about the program, please contact your child's teacher.

Programa de lectura en familia LEER | LEER family reading program
L.E.E.R. (Lectura Enriquece y Es un Regalo) es un programa familiar de alfabetización para animar a las familias a disfrutar de la lectura. Cada jueves, cada niño en kinder, 1o, y 2o grados recibe una bolsa LEER anaranjada con dos libros en español para que la lleve a casa por una semana. Cada bolsa contiene un libro de ficción y uno informativo, y estos libros son para que los padres, los abuelos y cualquier persona encargada de los estudiantes se los lean.
Para los grados K-2; se necesita al menos un voluntario por grado. Distribuya y recoja libros de las bolsas LEER los jueves de 8:30 a 9:00 am.
L.E.E.R. (Lectura Enriquece y Es un Regalo / Reading Enriches and is a Gift) is a family literacy program to encourage the enjoyment of reading. Every Thursday, each child in kinder, 1st and 2nd grades receives an orange LEER book bag with two books in Spanish to take home for the week. Every bag contains one fiction book and one non-fiction book, and these books are for the students' parents, grandparents or other caregivers to read with them.
For grade K-2; at least one volunteer per class needed. Check books in and out for the LEER bags on Thursdays from 8:30 to 9:00 am.

Compañeros de Lectura | Reading Buddies
Los compañeros de lectura son voluntarios que apoyan a estudiantes de FGIS del 3er - 5to grado que tienen un nivel de lectura inferior al de su grado. Un Compañero de Lectura se reúne individualmente con 1-2 alumnos por 20-30 minutos cada viernes por la mañana, escucha mientras el/la estudiante lee y le da apoyo alentándole y haciéndole preguntas.
Reading buddies are volunteers who support 3rd - 5th grade FGIS students performing below grade level in reading. A Reading Buddy meets individually with 1-2 students for 20-30 minutes each Friday morning, listens to the student read and supports the student by offering encouragement and asking questions.

Our garden is a vegetable and herb garden, planted and maintained by our students and parent volunteers! Plant vegetables, pull weeds, and complete other projects in our school garden.

Rutas Seguras a la Escuela | Safe Routes to School
La PTA quiere que todos los estudiantes lleguen y regresen de la escuela de forma segura. Este programa ayuda a las familias a planificar su llegada segura y a mejorar la seguridad en los cruces peatonales cerca de la escuela.
PTA wants ALL students to get to and from school safely! This program helps families plan how to get to school safely and helps increase safety in crosswalks near the school.
